Candidate Statement: I have been privileged to serve you on the City Council for the past year and we have seen significant progress.  We have enjoyed substantial participation by residents and we've set the framework toward reaching Soldotna's full potential.  I have experience, skill and positive energy to keep the momentum moving to guide our community to become the Alaskan home town we all envision.

Municipal government's role include providing essential services, state and federal outreach, reasonable recreational opportunities for residents and supporting responsible businesses that are vital in keeping down the cost of government.  I also strongly feel that Soldotna must always operate within our current financial means; making decisions for the good of all residents without irresponsible spending.

I believe in encouraging resident participation so that together we can:

protect the quality of life for families to reverse reductions in school attendance,
protect the Kenai River,
plan responsible development,
encourage low-impact new business for jobs and sustainable revenue, and
continue supporting the pioneer seniors of our community.

As your Mayor, I will continue to place resident families committed to our diversified community first in all of my considerations and decisions; remaining available, approachable and impartial to all Soldotna residents.
