AN ORDINANCE TO REDIRECT $70,000 FROM OTHER CAPITAL PROJECTS

TO THE HOMER HIGH SCHOOL POOL FILTER SYSTEM

WHEREAS, a delay of repair will ultimately result in health problems; and

WHEREAS, the estimated cost of improvements will be $70,000.00; and

WHEREAS, Ordinance 96-11 appropriated $69,000 to the Homer Jr. High School track resurfacing project and $60,000 to the Port Graham School metal siding project; and

WHEREAS, a cost savings of $44,000.00 could be attained by resealing the Homer Jr. High School track in lieu of a complete resurfacing; and

WHEREAS, a cost savings of $26,000.00 could be attained by sand blasting and repainting the exterior of the Port Graham School in lieu of installing metal siding; and

WHEREAS, hearing on shortened time is needed due to the short construction season and ten week time needed for obtaining parts;

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE ASSEMBLY OF THE KENAI PENINSULA BOROUGH:
