ORDINANCE 98-15 |
AN ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING A SUPPLEMENTAL APPROPRIATION
TO COMPLETE THE 911 STREET ADDRESSING PROJECT
WHEREAS, it is in the best interests of borough residents and visitors
to have street names displayed in a prominent location; and
WHEREAS, it is necessary for emergency services to have the correct
and proper street name displayed in a prominent location; and
WHEREAS, it is important for public health and safety personnel, as
well as economic and visitor interests, to have a universal means of locating points of
interests; and
WHEREAS, the Kenai Peninsula Borough Planning Commission has completed
naming and renaming of streets throughout the borough; and
WHEREAS, it is a borough wide service and the costs are beyond the
scope of the annual budget of the Road Service Area;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE ASSEMBLY OF THE KENAI PENINSULA BOROUGH:
SECTION 1. That the Kenai Peninsula Borough appropriates $30,000 to
account #236-339050-43020 from the general fund balance to provide funding for the
completion of the borough wide street addressing plan for the 911 system. The
appropriation will be an increase to the Road Service Area budget.
SECTION 2. That this ordinance shall take effect immediately upon its
enactment.
