SUBJECT: Ordinance 2006-36 amending KPB 20.04.040 regarding plat waivers
The attached ordinance amending KPB 20.04.040 regarding plat waivers is a direct result of the situation recently brought to light in the city of Homer. As you can see by the attached memo from Miss Montague, there were clearly problems with the ordinance as it now exists.
As the current ordinance was reviewed, it was felt the additional information of certificate of ownership and payment of taxes should also be a part of the waiver process as it is for any subdivision plat. The plat waiver process under state statute is a very simplified method of subdividing, as Miss Montague points out in her memo as well. This ordinance will address the issues that I feel need to be included in the borough code.
