A RESOLUTION CERTIFYING THE RESULTS OF THE
OCTOBER 6, 1998 REGULAR BOROUGH ELECTION
WHEREAS, the Canvass Board of the Kenai Peninsula Borough met on October 13, 1998 and tallied the votes of Questioned and Absentee ballots and the ballots cast by voters in the all mail precincts together with votes counted on election night; and
WHEREAS, the precinct tallies as recorded by the Canvass Board are as follows:

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE ASSEMBLY OF THE KENAI PENINSULA BOROUGH:
SECTION 1. That in the Borough-wide election for School Board, the following were elected to 3-year terms, having received the greatest number of votes cast:
Seat F - Deborah J. Germano
Seat G - Lorraine Crawford
SECTION 2. That in Assembly District 3, Jack Brown was elected to a 3-year term, having received the greatest number of votes cast.
SECTION 3. That in Assembly District 4, Pete Sprague was elected to a 3-year term, having received the greatest number of votes cast.
SECTION 4. That in Assembly District 7, Paul A. Fischer was elected to a 3-year term, having received the greatest number of votes cast.
SECTION 5. That in the Anchor Point Fire and Emergency Service Area, Seat B, Karson D. Dorvall was elected to a 3-year term, having received the greatest number of votes cast.
SECTION 6. That in the Bear Creek Fire Service Area, the following were elected to 3-year terms, having received the greatest number of votes cast:
Seat A - James Ireland
Seat B - Jerry Woods
SECTION 7. That for the Joint Operations Board for the Central Peninsula Emergency Medical Services Area and Central Emergency Service Area, the following were elected to 3-year terms, having received the greatest number of votes cast:
Seat A - Ken Hepner
Seat B - Kurt Olson
SECTION 8. That in the Nikiski Fire Service Area, the following were elected to 3-year terms, having received the greatest number of votes cast:
Seat A - Mae M. Leighton
Seat B - Mark T. Cialek
Seat C - Steven C. Hoogland
SECTION 9. That in the Nikiski Senior Service Area, the following were elected to 3-year terms, having received the greatest number of votes cast:
Seat B - Richard Gunter
Seat C - Nelda Lashley
SECTION 10. That in the North Peninsula Recreation Service Area, the following were elected to a 3-year terms, having received the greatest number of votes cast.:
Seat A - Marian L. Nickelson
Seat B- Steven L. Gillaspie
SECTION 11. That in the Ninilchik Emergency Service Area, Seat A, Paul M. Simonds was elected to a 1-year term, having received the greatest number of votes cast.
SECTION 12. That in the Ninilchik Emergency Service Area, the following were elected to 2-year terms, having received the greatest number of votes cast:
Seat B - Lloyd Wayne Taggart
Seat C - Greg Encelewski
SECTION 13. That in the Ninilchik Emergency Service Area, the following were elected to 3-year terms, having received the greatest number of votes cast:
Seat D - Laura L. Trunnell
Seat E - Patricia Tilbury
SECTION 14. That in the South Peninsula Hospital Service Area, the following were elected to 3-year terms, having received the greatest number of votes cast:
Seat G - Harry E. Gregoire
Seat H - Lenore E. Jones
Seat I - Fred Lau
SECTION 15. That in the Central Peninsula Hospital Service Area, the following were elected to 1-year terms, having received the greatest number of votes cast:
Seat A - Bill Grimm
Seat B - Barbara A. Kangas
Seat C - Steve Hileman
SECTION 16. That in the Central Peninsula Hospital Service Area, the following were elected to 2-year terms, having received the greatest number of votes cast:
Seat D - Michael Druce
Seat E - Susan Jelsma
SECTION 17. That in the Central Peninsula Hospital Service Area, the following were elected to 3-year terms, having received the greatest number of votes cast:
Seat F - Pat Hawkins
Seat G - Jim Clark
SECTION 18. That Proposition No. 1, adopting nonareawide trail powers, was defeated by the voters.
SECTION 19. That Proposition No. 2, advising on the issue of nonareawide limited animal control powers, was defeated by the voters.
SECTION 20. That Proposition No. 3, increasing the road service area mill levy, was defeated by the voters of the service area.
SECTION 21. That Proposition No. 4, establishing the Ninilchik Emergency Service Area, was defeated by the voters of the service area.
SECTION 22. That Proposition No. 5, authorizing the South Peninsula Hospital expansion and upgrade, was adopted by the voters of the service area.
SECTION 23. That Proposition No. 6, expanding the Central Emergency Service Area, was adopted by the voters of the service area.
SECTION 24. That this resolution takes effect immediately upon its adoption.
