KENAI PENINSULA BOROUGH
RESOLUTION 99-080
A RESOLUTION CERTIFYING THE RESULTS FOR
THE ASSEMBLY SEAT IN DISTRICT 5
WHEREAS, the Canvass Board of the Kenai Peninsula Borough met on October 12, 1999, and tallied the votes of Questioned and Absentee ballots and the ballots cast by voters in the Ridgeway, Sport Lake, and Sterling precincts for the Assembly District 5 seat; and
WHEREAS, a recount petition was filed by the defeated candidate in accordance to KPB 4.100.010; and
WHEREAS, a Hand Count Team conducted a recount on October 15, 1999, of all ballots cast for the Assembly District 5 seat; and
WHEREAS, the Hand Count Team certified the results for the Assembly District 5 seat agreed in full with the results as reported by the Canvass Board; and
WHEREAS, the report of the recount is

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE ASSEMBLY OF THE KENAI PENINSULA BOROUGH:
SECTION 1. That in Assembly District 5, Grace Merkes was elected to a 3-year term, having received the greatest number of votes cast.
SECTION 2. That this resolution takes effect immediately upon its adoption.
ADOPTED BY THE ASSEMBLY OF THE KENAI PENINSULA BOROUGH THIS 2ND DAY OF NOVEMBER, 1999.
