SUBJECT:    RESOLUTION 2006-048

                        HOMER MIDDLE SCHOOL ROOF REPLACEMENT

The Purchasing and Contracting Office solicited and opened bids for the above-referenced project April 26, 2006. The invitation to bid was advertised in the Peninsula Clarion, the Homer News, the Seward Phoenix Log and the Anchorage Daily News. One bid was received. The low responsive bid of $226,764.00 submitted by Rain Proof Roofing, LLC of Anchorage, Alaska comprises the base bid.

The base bid consists of providing all labor, materials and equipment to replace approximately 11,000 SF of roofing at Homer Middle School. The work includes the demolition of existing and the installation of new rigid insulation and built-up roofing, and approximately 625 LF of new parapet construction.

Funding is available in the capital projects budget. Expenditures for the project will be charged to account numbers 400.72030.06189 and 400.78050.06197.

The attached Resolution requests Award of Contract for this work to the low responsive bidder for the bid amount. The project is scheduled to be substantially complete by July 31, 2006.
