SUBJECT:       Resolution 2006–052 A Resolution Authorizing Award Of A Contract For Borough Administration Building Automatic Transfer Switch and Uninterruptible Power Supply Upgrade

 

The Kenai Peninsula Borough solicited and opened bids for the above-referenced project on May 11, 2006. The invitation to bid was advertised in the Peninsula Clarion and Anchorage Daily News on April 14 and 16, 2006.

 

The bid submitted by Dimond Electric Company, Inc. was the low bid of 2 bids received. The bid is fair and reasonable and the bidder is qualified to perform the work. The total bid consists of providing all labor, materials, equipment and tools as follows:

 

          Base Bid A: remove the existing generator transfer switch and furnish and install a new 1000 amp Automatic Transfer switch, including new primary feed and associated connections; and

          Base Bid B: remove the existing 20 kVA Uninterruptible Power Supply (UPS) and furnish and install a new 60 kVA UPS system, including new primary feed and associated connections.

 

Additionally, several branch circuits shall be extended from the existing UPS panel to locations throughout the building to provide UPS power to these locations, as indicated by the bid documents.

 

Funding is available in account numbers 407.19010.06407.48311 and 705.18420. Please consider the attached resolution, authorizing award to Dimond Electric Company, Inc. of Anchorage, Alaska.
