SUBJECT:     Resolution 2006-056, Award of Professional and Design Services for the

                       Bear Creek Fire Service Area Public Safety Building

 

The Finance Department solicited and opened proposals for this project on May 25, 2006. The Request for Proposals was advertised in the Anchorage Daily News on May 9 and 16 and the Peninsula Clarion on May 10 and 16, and the Homer News and Seward Phoenix Log on May 11 and 16. Seven proposals were received.


The project consists of all normal duties associated with a phased design system for a Public Safety Building. This award is for the Schematic Phase; the additional phases to complete the design and construction will be awarded after funds have been appropriated.


The attached Project RFP Evaluation Sheet lists the responding firms. Seven proposals were received and graded per the attached Evaluation. The attached resolution requests award of contract for this work to Architects Alaska as the high point firm for the Programmatic & Schematic Phase not-to-exceed fee and reimbursable amount of $106,929.00.


All expenditures for this project will be charged to account number 442.51210.05213.
