Economic Indicators

The Kenai Peninsula Borough Economic Analyst provides statistical information about the Kenai Peninsula Borough economy for persons interested in starting a business, improving business practices, or for anyone desiring to know more about the KPB economic climate.

Four publications are completed each year. Situations and Prospects, is published annually in October providing data for the previous year. KPB demographics, sales and construction activities, and housing and property markets are presented. Employment statistics and farm production data is presented, public health services are discussed, and a section listing other notes of interest is available. Ten industry sectors are studied in detail - Commercial Fishing, Construction, Oil and Gas, Retail Industry, Service Industry, Timber Industry, Transportation & Warehousing and the Visitor Industry.

A Quarterly Report of Economic Indicators is published four times annually, providing sales data, construction activity, and the latest employment data by industry. Data is presented for the KPB and for each of the incorporated cities in the KPB, Homer, Kenai, Seldovia, Seward, and Soldotna.

Information collected is shared in hard copy or on the web, free of charge, enabling the reader to make business decisions based on fact rather than generally accepted perceptions about the economy.
