Southern Peninsula Plan...

As part of an ongoing effort to assemble accurate characteristics of borough-owned lands on the southern peninsula, the Kachemak Bay and Anchor Point Advisory Planning Commissions (APC) will resume taking public comments at their meetings on borough-owned parcels within their boundaries, and make classification recommendations to be incorporated into a Southern Peninsula Plan.

These public comments, along with APC and Planning Department Staff classification recommendations, will be used in drafting a land use plan for borough lands in that area, and help guide the Borough Administration, Planning Commission and Assembly in future land use decisions.  Local knowledge of the area and needs of the community including: roads, terrain, emergency services, historical uses, hazards, wildlife habitat and schools, is an important part of this process.

Your input will help growth on the southern peninsula proceed with an eye on the future, by pointing out where borough lands might be needed for public use, residential housing, recreation, etc.  Think about what your community’s needs will be in the next ten to twenty years, and bring those ideas to the meeting.  Your information will help the APCs decide on appropriate classification recommendations.  A list of the 14 possible recommendations can be found by clicking on the Parcel Classification and Descriptions link.
